Who we are

Folder Scrub (folderscrub.app) is an independent Mac app operated from India. We (“we”, “us”) are responsible for this website and for the personal data described below — the data controller for that information. There is no Folder Scrub account. The app is a direct download, not a Mac App Store product.

The Mac app

Scanning, previews, and optional on-device image analysis run locally. We do not upload folder contents, file names, or scan results, and we do not store copies of the files you scan.

The only routine data that leaves your Mac is what license activation needs. When you activate a key, the app sends that license key and a device identifier — the Mac’s hardware UUID, or a random identifier stored on that Mac if the hardware UUID is unavailable — to Dodo Payments, so they can enforce the three-activation limit. Validation and deactivation send the license key and the activation id Dodo returns. Those calls do not include your files. The app keeps the license key and activation id in the macOS Keychain on that Mac.

If you choose to email us a crash or diagnostic log, it may include technical metadata such as the app version and macOS version. Do not send logs that contain personal file paths unless you are comfortable sharing them.

This website

• The site is hosted on a provider such as Vercel. The host may keep standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build marketing profiles, and we do not sell personal information.
• We do not set marketing cookies, and we do not run website analytics today. If we add analytics later, we will update this page before it goes live.
• “Buy” leaves folderscrub.app and opens checkout on Dodo Payments. Card details are entered there, not on this site.

Third parties

• Dodo Payments processes checkout and license activation, validation, and deactivation. Their privacy policy covers payment data and the license records they store.
• The website host (for example Vercel) processes the server logs described above.

How long data is kept

We do not keep scanned files. Dodo Payments retains license and activation data for as long as needed to provide the license, enforce the activation limit, and support the purchase. If you email support@folderscrub.app, we receive the address you write from and the message you send, and we keep it long enough to reply and to handle a license or refund question.

Your rights

Email support@folderscrub.app to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. We will honor that unless we need the record to provide a paid license, prevent abuse, or meet a legal duty. For payment data Dodo Payments holds, contact them as well.

Children

Folder Scrub is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this page when our practices change. The date at the top will change with it.
